No hope for PokeStory...

So, the source code... I recovered it! But... It has already been corrupted with data. There is absolutely nothing I can do other than restart the coding.

Again, I didn't want to have to do this but it looks like I have to. D:

I'm sorry a million times over for the unfortunate situation that has befallen PS, but I will be working diligently to get it back up and running. Thanks, everyone for your patience, and I am so sorry about this. =[

  1. Numerous questions cross my mind when reading about recent pokestory events.
    1. WHY DIDN'T YOU HAVE ANTI-VIRUS SOFTWARE???
    2. I myself am a coder. I keep at least 3 copies of all source code. One online. One on a CD(they are cheap btw pick yourself up some). One on HDD. Why didn't you have more copies?
    3. So how long do you think 'till pokestory comes out? You were very optimistic before this. Guessing the release is now 2013?

I hope if nothing else, you learn about the value of Anti-virus software. If your system cannot afford a lot of resources use Panda Cloud Anti-Virus.

  2. 1. I DID HAVE ANTIVIRUS SOFTWARE. Doesn't work when the user of the PC is a moron.
    2. I am also a coder. I made backups of my source code that got corrupt (two in fact). One on my HDD, one on my flash drive and one on my other computer. (CDs are obsolete, keep up with technology. I have tons of CDs but they're not useful.)
    3. Prolly later this year. No big deal really. I dunno.

And I hope you keep your arrogant nature to yourself next time you decide to post on my blog. Don't appreciate being called a moron for my mistake, acting like you're the supreme ruler over all things electronics.

  3. Firstly not once in my post did I call you a "moron" that is a title you assigned to yourself in your reply.
Secondly I made no attempt to be arrogant.
If you perceived me as arrogant. I am sorry.
    I was simply curious.
Thirdly, CDs are truly outdated for some things, yes... However they do work for backing up files.

I did invest in your project as I like pokemon and I want you to succeed at creating a great game.

Again I am sorry you felt insulted.
    That was not my intent.

    Also when I went afk.
I thought perhaps I should mention.
A Drive is a good online backup that has a free plan.
Also you might want to consider using 7-zip as I have never had problems with it corrupting my files.

  4. You assume I knew nothing of Anti-Virus software. A pretty big insult for someone like you or I, I'm sure you'd agree.

But, if I misread your comment then I apologize. No need for you to apologize if it was all my bad.

CDs are rather nice for that purpose, but so... Big. xD I'll stick to my flash drive.

And I'm actually looking into using a SVN (using my personal server machine) rather than using ADrive (which was nice for the minute I was interested in it). I might still use it to back up files, too. I can never have too many back ups.

7-zip... I use winrar, but I'll try it out.

Again, my deepest apologies. Emotion can't properly be expressed on the internet. My bad. (embarrassed!)

  5. I assume nothing. You stated that a virus was the root of the issue. You made no mention of the "moron using it."
I do however agree that if I assumed anything that would've been a insulting assumption.

If your server machine is local.
Sorta defeats the online backups main objective.
The reason I backup files online is in case of emergency(fire/flood/etc.)
I never liked winrar. Proprietary rubbish I say.

Anyhow this is my last comment as I feel sorta like I am spamming your blog.

    Much luck mate!
    *Can't wait for pokestory*
